Our Story, Our Purpose
About Help Them Play
Every once in a while, during local tournaments, the three of us would come across teams of children from underserved communities playing with incredible spirit and determination. It was easy to notice — from their mismatched jerseys, worn-out studs, or makeshift gear — that what they lacked in resources, they more than made up for in passion. That stayed with us.
Help Them Play was born from a desire to bridge that gap — to give every child, regardless of background, the chance to play with dignity and confidence. What began as a simple idea — to pass on the same opportunities we were fortunate to receive — has grown into a collective effort to bring the joy and power of play to children who need it most. Whether it’s collecting gently used equipment, organizing donation drives, or partnering with grassroots organizations, our goal is to make sport a little more inclusive, one child at a time.
Our Mission
At Help Them Play, we are driven by a powerful belief — that every child deserves the chance to play with pride, dignity, and opportunity. Our mission is to:
Ensure that all children, regardless of their background or resources, have fair and meaningful access to sports.
Promote active, healthy lifestyles by encouraging regular sports participation and physical well-being from a young age.
Give new life to pre-owned sports gear — reducing waste and promoting sustainability through purposeful reuse.
Empower young minds with the discipline, teamwork, and self-confidence that sport uniquely teaches.
Provide quality sports gear and apparel, so no child is left behind due to lack of equipment.
Forge community connections through donations, drives, and grassroots partnerships.
Because when children play, they don’t just learn the game — they learn resilience, respect, and the courage to dream. And we’re here to make sure every child gets that chance.
Meet The Founders
What binds the three founders is their shared passion for the sport — and a commitment to making it accessible for every child. Lets get to know the Founders –
Arav Mittal is a student with a strong interest in economics, finance, and global systems — and a footballer who understands firsthand the confidence, discipline, and sense of purpose that sport can build. Off the field, he enjoys exploring how policy and financial structures shape opportunities for people across different walks of life. Help Them Play is his way of connecting two worlds he deeply cares about — numbers and people, structure and impact. According to Arav, it allows him to contribute meaningfully while continuing to grow as a learner and team player.
Meet Shaurya Rakyan, a Class 12th student with a passion for law and football! By day, he is a law enthusiast, and by kick-off, a football star representing his school team. Balancing books and boots, Shaurya embodies determination and teamwork. Let’s wish him all the best for a slam dunk in law and a hat-trick on the football field!
Atharva Aggarwal is a student with a strong interest in studying finance at an international college. He is passionate about understanding global markets and how money moves in the world. Outside academics, he is an active football player in his school team, showing great teamwork, focus, and commitment. He aims to grow both as a student and an athlete in a college that supports all-round development.
