WHY IT MATTERS
Because When Talent Meets Opportunity, Futures Are Rewritten
In many Indian national teams, especially in athletics, boxing, and wrestling, dozens of athletes come from farming, labor, or below-poverty-line families. Some of India’s greatest athletes started with nothing more than determination. We believe community-backed sports can give a chance to every child to shine just like Dutee Chand, O.P Jaisha and Sathish Sivalingam.
At the 2023 Asian Games, about 166 of India’s 256 medallists came from families earning less than ₹5 lakh per year.
About 50 athletes first picked up their sport while growing up in homes earning less than ₹50,000 per year.
